Relief For IBD in Boxers

This is Tug, an almost 9 year old Boxer.

He has suffered from IBD since he was about a year old. His symptoms are screaming and gurgling intestines which cause him excruciating pain. He pants, paces, wants to hide, and is inconsolable.

He doesn't eat or drink for about 24 hours and doesn't poop or have gas during a flare up, everything is just stuck inside. Of course, we initially made many trips to our vet and she didn't have much to offer besides changing foods.

We live in a rural area with no Veterinary Specialists, the closest internist is 4 hours away. Personally, we blame his IBD on a mean case of Giardia at 6 months old and also he has separation anxiety so when he gets worked up, it seems to trigger it. The flare ups were happening two to three times a month and I was out of my mind with worry.
